Fifth Class-Term 1 2023/24

5th class have had a very busy start to the year. We enjoyed a local history tour to Cloonakilla Graveyard and other points of local historical interest in October with Martin Curley. Maths Week was so much fun! We participated in problem solving and the “Have you got Maths Eyes?” initiative. We created and designed maths games for the junior infant classes during Maths week. They were fantastic and cleverly put together. The infants thoroughly enjoyed their visit upstairs. We have created lovely pieces of art each week. We especially enjoyed our lesson based on the style of Tim Burton and Romero Britto. We have been reading novels like The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, Holes & There’s a Boy in the Girl’s Bathroom. Choir resumed on Wednesday afternoons with Mrs.O’Rourke. We learned about the digestive system in science and had a very enjoyable and informative visit from Dr. Conor to discuss our health. We are all looking forward to our Halloween break!
