Sixth Class 2024/25

We’ve had a very busy Term 1 in 6th Class.  We held our Student Council Elections in September.  Many children in both classes gave excellent presentations to their peers and eight pupils were elected.  Congratulations to Max Walsh, Ryan Keenan, Cian Nugent, Nathan Behan, Saoirse O’Reilly McCrossan, Niall Duignan, Matthew Brydone & Cerys Mimnagh Reilly.

In October, inspired by Austrian daredevil, Felix Baumgartner, we designed parachutes and tested their effectiveness. We also teamed up with Junior Infants for some fun Maths Week Activities.

For Science Week in November, Sinéad Mimnagh, microbiologist in ALCON  and mum to Cerys came in and worked with the children on collecting samples from surfaces in the school and testing them for bacterial levels, with some surprising results! The children also completed informative and eye-catching projects on the geography and history of China.

In December, we decked our desks in Christmas themed decorations and read Christmas stories around our digital campfire with 2nd Class.  We will be busy this term preparing for our Confirmation Day on 25th March.
