Term 2
| It’s been a busy and enjoyable term for Second Class! In English, we explored procedural writing and brought it to life by making pancakes on Pancake Tuesday. Our Gaelic football sessions with Paul McManus were a big hit, with everyone enjoying the chance to build new skills each week.We have also been learning and growing in our faith. The children carefully created their own rosary beads with Annette Curley and celebrated the special milestone of their First Confession. We are so proud of them all!For World Book Day, we teamed up with Sixth Class for paired reading, admired some fantastic costumes and enjoyed a lovely visit to Athlone Library.Bhaineamar an-taitneamh as Seachtain na Gaeilge freisin. Ghlacamar páirt i neart gníomhaíochtaí spraíúla, cluichí, amhráin, céilí agus tráth na gceist, agus chríochnaíomar le Lá Glas! |

Solar System Science Projects
| It’s been a busy and exciting start to the new school year as we’ve settled into 2nd Class! We have been hard at work and play, from creating colourful portraits and spooky scenes in art, conducting EGGsperiments in science and showing off our impressive basketball skills on the court. We were delighted to welcome Garda David Dully to our classroom for a special visit and we’ve also enjoyed exploring our school environment with both Ciaran and Martin. On top of all that, we’ve been busy with our ‘Skip Around the World’ Active Schools initiative, keeping fit while having fun. |
