We had a fun packed month of December at Cloonakilla NS. Most classes performed their Christmas Concerts for their classmates and families. We had a fabulous hamper giveaway! Breege, our SNA of 22 years retired. We held a really memorable ceremony to mark the occasion. Past pupil Jay Maloney even rejoined us to remind us, how much Breege’s daily actions meant to him, even to this day!
Tommy Cormican, Chairperson of our BOM also spoke about Breege and her contribution to Cloonakilla school over the years. There were a few tears but we wish Breege the very best of health as she starts a new chapter.
The Wellbeing Committee were extremely busy making sure we all felt our best in the run up to the holidays. There was a fabulous paired reading event with junior and senior classes. Campfire reading was the theme and it was most enjoyable for all.
The Student Council held an extremely successful Bake sale on Thursday 12th December. Senior classes provided the baked goods . All pupils got a slot to come and buy some treats. There was a Trath Na gCeist conducted through Zoom and a fun “Guess the Christmas Tune” quiz too. Pupils created lots of Christmas inspired art and I think we would all agree that we had a great month.
