5th class have had a very busy start to the year. We enjoyed a trip to Athlone town and explored points of local historical interest in October with Martin Curley. We especially enjoyed our visit to the Luan Gallery. Maths Week was so much fun! We participated in problem solving and the “Have you got Maths Eyes?” initiative. We have created lovely pieces of art each week. We especially enjoyed our lesson based on the style of Tim Burton and Romero Britto. We have been reading novels like The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, Holes & There’s a Boy in the Girl’s Bathroom and lots more. Choir resumed on Thursday afternoons with Mrs.O’Rourke. We learned about the digestive system in science. We also worked collaboratively in groups to create projects on Mexico which we presented to our classmates.
